Welcome to the new Labranard Community site. Here you can connect with other people who are owners or fans of Saint Bernard Labrador Retriever mixed breed dogs – also known as Labranards!
We’re just getting started here so feel free to provide feedback on what you’d like to see. Yes, we know that photo upload/sharing is a highly desired feature and we’re waiting patiently for this feature to be available. Members will be the first to know when this is enabled.
In the meantime, if you have a Flickr account (or want to create one) you can submit your photos in the Labranard group and have them displayed on the main page in our photo stream.
One big request – if you know of any Saint Bernard Labrador Retriever mixed breed puppies that are available for adoption in your area, please post about it! We get a fair number of requests from people looking for Labranards and unfortunately, we’re unable to help at the moment (we aren’t breeders, just fans of this mix like you!)
Thanks for stopping by and please, take a couple minutes to register and join us!
Hello, my name is Ray and I own a Saint Bernard four month old female puppy. I also own a two and a half year old male Labrador. I know I have to wait till the female is two years old to mate her with the lab. I have a question for any one that has mated a large male lab with a female saint. With the unknow outcome of color range, what coloring seems to be most apparent? Thank you for your time.
Hi Ray,
Well in my case all the 9 puppies look like Labs. They are all black and some white spotting here and there. They are healthy and balls of fur!!!!
Well for now I will respond to “Jackson’s mom” since you did not give a name. I am Raymond S. Jensen in San Antonio, Texas. A sixty-three year old with a loving wife that watches me all the time because I need to take strong pain killers for my severe arthritis. Thank you for telling me about your litter of almost pure black labranards. Since I have a very large male labrador I am thinking about breading him in the future with our young girl saint bernard. Sorry, my pills make me repeat things you already know. Would you please reply to my questions if you know any of the answers? I would rather breed my saint with another saint next year. Do you know of any male saints near San Antonio? Do you know of any other people with more pictures of labranards for me to look at? One more question, if you please. Are the puppies you have like normal labs that love to chew on anything they can get their mouths on? Thank you for replying and now reading my ramblings, Ray.
Hi Ray. Our Roxie came from a litter of 7 or 8 puppies and only two had the tri-colour markings like a Saint Bernard. She was one of the two. The other puppies had mixed markings, some were almost completely black and others were white mixed with either black or brown.
You can see some Labranard pictures in the Flickr Group:

Being a mixed breed, Labranards can have any number of different behavioural traits. Some will be more like Labradors and others will be more like Saint Bernards. Our Roxie is a decent mix because she will normally be cool and calm but she can get very excited and playful when other dogs are around.
Hello Ray,
I am Courtnie. I am the one that adopted Less-A-Lee from you and your family. We just recieved a letter from AKC saying we need to get your signature again and re send the application. We have searched for your phone number and found one but it didn’t seem to work. I somehow stumbled onto this site and was hoping you would get this soon.
If this is the wrong person and you have absolutely no clue what I am talking about, I am so sorry. But if you are the right person then please email me at courtnieseamans2010@yahoo.com your number, or if you may still have my number by any chance, it has not changed, please call me.
Thank you so much,
Courtnie
We had a wonderful labranard that was jet black and looked like an overgrown lab with too much jowel and too thick a neck and long ears! He was the greatest – lived to be 16! In some respects he was a lot like a lab – loved water and loved to retrieve things. However, he also liked snow, and would rescue my kids when they went sledding. Wonderful dog in all ways.
We rescued Maxmillian 3 months ago and have been trying to figure out what type of dog he is. He just keeps growing. Big huge paws, playful and very loving. Having a terrible time with training him. We love him to death and he loves us. Just a big dog to handle.
We got Spice almost two years ago, when she was 9 months old, from someone I worked with. She was 75 lbs at tge time and now at 2.5 years old she has reached 120lbs! She looks like a huge blsck lab but she has the jowels, tail and longer hair of the St. Bernard. She also tends to drool more than a lab but it’s not bad or constant. She likes to think she is a lap dog and she still has a lot of puppy in her. She is constantly looking for mischief or shes trying to play with the cats.(which they don’t appreciate).
