Sounds like Riley is a really great dog!
My memory might be wrong but I think you’re supposed to wait until they are 6 months old before getting them fixed. A quick call to your vet would give you a firm answer.

Crate training isn’t exactly “enjoyable” at first. Puppies don’t understand why you want to keep them “locked up” so that they can’t just do what they want. Once you (and the puppy) get used to the idea, things will be much better. Our 5 year old 120+ lbs Roxie will happily go into her crate [...]

What do you mean? If you’re looking to have them adopted, you could try posting in http://labranard.com/groups/labranard-classifieds/ with some information on your general location, etc.
Puppies usually are born without too much intervention.
There are lots of resources on the net with information on how to prepare and what to do for the puppies/mom after. Your Vet can also provide lots of information.Good Luck!

So glad we got the Furminator for Roxie a couple years ago. Very handy for taking care of all of the hair she’s shedding these days. We collect a miniature poodle worth of hair every week!

Stinking hot in Ottawa today. Poor Roxie is hiding in the basement trying to stay cool. If it’s going to be one of these summers I think we’ll be getting her shaved!
