Years ago we had a Labranard. Grizzly was a cross between a Giant Black Lab and a Saint Bernard. At full growth he weighed 175 pounds.(This weight is not typical of a labranard, he was so huge because his dam was a giant lab, not the average labrador retreiver.) He had the long nose of a lab and the floppy jowls of the Saint Bernard and was a very gentle yet very protective dog. He was black with a single white patch on his chest.

Lindsey, St. Bernard - Labrador mixes can end up with all sort of different markings. It all depends on the genetics. In the litter our Roxie came from, there were two black pups that just looked like big labs. The mom was a yellow coloured St. Bernard - Labrador mix and the dad was a yellow lab mix.

My little sister found five, what looked like black lab puppies, in our ditch March 16th. The mother was a yellow lab. We put a radio announcement on and the owners came and picked them up and they told us they were an "accident litter" and that the father could either be a st. bernard or a blue heeler. I knew those pups were too big to be a heeler. My boyfriend and I recently adopted one, Rosco. He is only 4 months old and is huge!!! I'm am still uncertain, but we think he is a labranard, yet he is black and his mother was a yellow lab. Any explanation?
